Ilana Ander, MHC-LP

Mental Health Counselor

💬 English

I am a psychotherapist at Herald Square Psychology. I received my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University and am currently a PhD student in Counseling Psychology at Fordham.

I believe each client has innate strengths and inner wisdom that can be uncovered through the therapy process. We will work together to make sense of your past and present, and move towards positive change. I aim to bring empathy, warmth, humor, acceptance, and cultural humility into each session.

I am an integrative, client-centered therapist and draw from my cognitive behavioral (CBT), psychodynamic, and trauma informed training. I have experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, adjustment, and eating disorders, but am eager to support clients with a range of presenting concerns. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I have experience with yoga and mindfulness based therapy, and am therefore attuned to the mind-body connection.
