Thank you for taking the first step towards beginning your therapeutic journey and working on your well-being. It is my privilege to collaborate with you on discovering new pathways towards your life goals.
The therapeutic relationship is of the utmost importance throughout the course of psychotherapy. As such, I invite clients to form an affirming alliance, while striving to provide a space for empathy, honesty, compassion, and empowerment. This includes addressing your interpersonal mental health experiences through your own story. I believe in an integrative approach that helps identify your immediate needs and unique obstacles. Through this multiculturally-informed practice, I will support you as you navigate personal relationships, self-exploration, and sociocultural values.Â
I utilize a diverse theoretical approach that reflects elements of relational therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to better understand your history as well as help you develop successful, autonomous coping patterns.
I also value introducing strengths-based and mindfulness practices to encourage healing and self-forgiveness. I will work with you in exploring issues related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, and trauma. I also place heavy emphasis on understanding your narratives through the intersectionality of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and other identities you value.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness with an Advanced Certificate in LGBT Health, Education, and Social Services from New York University, and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Queens College. I am fluent in Spanish and welcome anyone who may benefit from working with a bilingual therapist. I look forward to supporting you in achieving your potential!
